Would it be too much to ask for a Disney Cruise? A new SUV with a DVD player integrated in? A personal chef? OK then, Ill just wish for the winning lotto ticket

Raccoon Cartoon Collection

Today after we got into the car, but before I pulled out of the driveway for school I told Jake I forgot to hug and kiss him, so he unstrapped, walked to to the front seat and hugged and kissed me and I said "I love you" (like I always do) and he said "When I'm old enough to walk on my own to school Ill make sure I give you a hug and a kiss you and say I love you before I leave the house" and I said "And when you are off in college you have to call me every day to tell me you love me" and Jake said "You can't say I love you when you are in college!"......so I said- "OK- then we will come up with a code that means I love you....you could say "don't eat a raccoon!"!"....to which everyone started giggling....

When Jake got out of the car today at school he turned and said "Don't eat a raccoon Mummy!".....Ahhhhh....I love my boys!

My little Angel, Josh

Last night was Josh's Spanish Schoolhouse Christmas show- and what a show it was! It was so well done. Every bit of it was done in Spanish and to see the kids understand what was being said and perform all in spanish just made me smile! Every classroom wore a costume, provided by the school and every classroom said a prayer/poem (in Spanish of course) and sang a song. The thing I enjoyed about it was the culture they are introducing. We didn't just hear "Frosty the snowman" or "Jingle Bells"...we heard traditional spanish songs from Mexico and Colombia and Venezuela. (which is something that Spanish Schoolhouse does well- they are always introducing Spanish culture into the class and I just love that!). Josh's group dressed as angels and they sang a song called "Estrella con Campanita" (Star with Bell) and it was SOOOO great! Josh sang the whole thing (The video is too long to post) and he seemed so proud to be up there.

I am so happy that we found the Spanish Schoolhouse- it is just a pleasure to have Josh got here.

Honestly though....the Princess Bride is chock FULL of amazing quotes that I use every day...."Inconceivable! You keep using that word. I don not think it means what you think it means"....or "Rodents of Unusual Size?! I dont think they exist".....or "STOP IT! I mean it!"- "Anyone want a peanut?!"
Now I have to go watch the thing again!

I think Im DONE Christmas shopping.......I honestly felt like I was so far behind but now I think Im done! That doesn't mean that I have all my presents in the house and wrapped though. I still have gifts to be delivered, and I still have to pick a few ordered things in at Walmart (site to store is an amazing invention!) and I am WAY behind on wrapping.....but for now Im considering myself DONE.....Im sure Ill pick up a few more stocking stuffers.....but its feeling good right now!

The part that isn't feeling good is when I look at the mound I still have to wrap.....sighhhhhh

This was a very low key weekend.....we didn't really do much at all....but on Saturday afternoon we had a friend in and the boys and E played all afternoon while E's Mom and I visited (and drank!).....so it was quite nice......and in the process of it all, we decided to make gingerbread cookies. I just love watching kids make cookies- or any kind of cooking really. We divided the dough into 3 balls and each kid rolled it out, and cut out shapes. I didn't have any cookie cutters so I cheated and used our play doh shape cutters as cookie cutters- and I have to say that they really worked well.....after we baked the cookies, and ate supper, the kids decorated 3 cookies each with frosting and they ate em up......The cookies weren't bad either I have to say....gingerbread isn't my favorite, but they were tasty- at least the ones that weren't rolled too thin.....those were super crunchy!

Spectacular, Spectacular

The Moulin Rouge has LONG been one of my favorite movies of all times.....and the music is phenomenal in it. And now the kids think so too.....no- I didn't let them watch it- I think its a little too much for a 4 and 5 year old...but I did play them "The Pitch/Spectacular! Spectacular!".....it started with me singing "so exciting, the audience will stop and cheer! So exciting, it will run for 50 years" and the kids asked to hear the real verison (apparently I don't do it justice!). They have now been dancing to this song for 6 times.....and still going strong.....you have to admit that its catchy right?

I asked Josh what he wanted from Santa and he said "I want a motorcycle that you can really ride that I can run it into the lake and then it will turn into a boat and after that it can spray apple juice at people!"

ICE! At the Gaylord Texan

The boys and the Grinch planning his trip

We took the kids out to the Gaylord Texan yesterday for the Grinch on Ice. Its a display they have out there where they have built a whole Who world out of ice along with the Grinch and his trusty dog Max. When you first get there they give you these big blue parkas that everyone is supposed to wear and they suggest that you bring your own mittens and gloves. You proceed into a super deep freeze where you get transported into Whoville and Mount Crumpet. It takes about 30 minutes to go through the display where you watch the Grinch plan his trip to Whoville and the Whos getting ready to celebrate Christmas and how the Grinch's heart grew 3 sizes and how he takes part in the Christmas feast in the end. Almost every bit is made from ice- it was fantastic! The room is a chilly 9 degrees F. There is also 3 or 4 ice slides that the kids could go down. It took Josh some convincing but he did it in the end....Jake was quicker to do it again and again.

The Grinch is one of my favorite parts of Christmas- its also becoming one of the kids favorites too- they really like the Jim Carrey movie! Which Im starting to like more and more as I watch. After the Ice experience you enter into this room where you could buy hot chocolate and truffles and watch the Grinch on a movie screen. That was a nice warm up after the 9 degree coolness. Then of course was the gift shop that you HAD to go through before you left....and like a sucker, we bought the kids a stuffed animal each....and I bought a grinch christmas ornament.

I just LOVED this exhibit....it meant alot to me that everyone went and had fun. Here is a short video of some of the magic that was in there- keep in mind, almost everything is made from ice in here:

After we warmed up and bought some stuff, we headed into the main part of the Gaylord Texan, which was decorated up for Christmas and it was just gorgeous.
