Im amazed that Jake is totally into Star Wars right now. For his birthday he got a light saber and his Grandma bought him 2 Star Wars transformers- Anikin Skywalker and an AT-AT, and 2 figurines that came with a comic book. Ever since then its been all about Darth Vadar and Chubacca. I guess Johnny reads that comic to Jake every night.
This morning Jake got Daddy out of bed at 5:30am. When I got up at 6am the two of them were sitting on the couch watching the 1st Star Wars movie and Jake was FULL of questions- "Who's that?", "Is he a bad guy?", "What planet does Luke live on?", "I want to hear Chubacca speak!". Im just amazed that 30 odd years after the creation of these movies, that they really really stand up to the test of time. They are just as exciting and awe inspiring now as they were then. I think George Lucas is a genius! Seriously. And Im excited to watch this next generation grow to love those movies like we did when we were kids (aww- who am I kidding- I still love those movies).

Thing is, you can enjoy it as a kid for the action and the fun characters, and you can enjoy it as an adult because there's a lot of politics and such throughout, which just adds to it. That's why the series is so great. Everyone can find something in it.
