Nightmares and Hallucinations

Last night Josh must have had one doozy of a nightmare.  He woke up about midnight crying and scared.  I brought him into his room and he freaked out at the "shadows".  He saw "shadows" everywhere- even where there weren't any shadows.  He kept saying "Take the shadows out of here!" and when I tried to cuddle him, he kept pushing me away saying I had shadows on me. He couldn't lay down- he couldn't sit up- he felt like there were shadows crawling on him (which I assume he meant spiders or something like that).  I finally got him to lay down but he kept freaking out.  I had him put his blankie over his eyes, and that worked for 2 minutes, until he peeled it off and started examining his arms for these shadows.  Finally, after about 2 hours of this I gave up and took him to Johnny's and my bed- where he never again mentioned the shadow and went straight off to sleep.
