Jake's Fat Lip

Yesterday Jake was on the playground and a friend and he were playing tag. Jake then proceeded to run smack into the wrought iron fence- driving his tooth deep into his upper lip and causing a ton of blood to spill. Of course, its in the mouth- so nothing can be done for that....no stitches or anything....so it just has to heal.....After a ton of TLC and attention though, he forgot about it (as much as you can forget about a throbbing lip). He said he felt well enough to go to the Christmas Pageant last night and perform and he brushed his teeth today and ate crunchy crackers for a snack last night.....so I guess he will mend. But he did get lost of attention!

Much sympathy!!

When I was 5 I decided that I should try and somersault off the arm off our settee (couch?). This pushed my bottom teeth through my bottom lip.

Never one to give up the second attempt split the outer lip enough for stitches and the third failed flip split my chin open (more stitches).

Fortunately this was in the days before hospital staff saw parental child abuse in every injury and by the third visit to casualty (A&E?) the nurses were laughing out loud at this little repeat visitor.
